I am drawn to the visual arts in general and painting in particular. My own work is in watercolor and acrylics on paper, board or canvas. My landscapes and seascapes express the power and strength I see in the stratigraphy of land shaped by natural forces of wind and water.

My figurative work allows me to play with stamping and color. I like texture whether visually described in paint or actually added to the surface with collage, stencils or other media.

I experiment with many painting techniques which is fun and also makes the painting more visually interesting.

Background
Since retiring from a position at Oregon Health and Sciences University in planning and program evaluation, I have focused on my lifelong goal of working in visual arts. I have taken workshops from the best contemporary artists such as Robert Burridge, Michael Schlicting, Robbie Laird and Pat San Souci. My work has been juried into shows, and is part of a permanent collection of Northwest art at the University of Oregon as well as other private collections. I enjoy sharing my art with others and teaching some of the techniques I have learned.
